Summer Silaging

I love the smell of fresh silage… if your from a farm you know exactly what I mean.  If you haven’t ever been on a farm during silaging (I highly recommend experiencing it at least once!) think of fresh mown lawn but with a little different and stronger smell.

Now maybe I like the smell of fresh silage because it reminds of everything else that goes along with silaging; the sounds of the tractor and silage chopper, the bouncing along riding in the trucks, the back and forth of the swaths in the fields, the long days  and satisfaction of a good days work…

Here are some photos I took one beautiful summer evening while helping silage on my husband’s family farm.

      miriam - Hey Cat,
Thanks so much for the comment! it makes me so glad to hear you also appreciate and love these photos; you know exactly why they’re special – you’ve also grown up on a farm AND like some artist expression of it mixed in too! :)ReplyCancel
